Raise colors and regions

Raise a color so it stands up from the face. On Design, go to the Style tab. Set Orientation to Face up, then go to Raised print below it. Set Raise by to Colors or Both. Hover over a color in the Raised colors row, or tap it on a touch screen. Use its Raise steps to lift it one layer at a time, up to 5 mm, or its Reset to make it flat again. The 3D preview shows the raised parts, each color in its own filament.

Raise an area of the face. In Raised print, set Raise by to Regions or Both. Select Paint a region. Paint the area with the Brush, or click a color with the Magic wand. The tools work as in Fix a cutout by hand. Select Apply.

Change a region. Each region has a small card under Raised regions. Use the steps on the card to set its height. Select Edit to paint it again, or Remove to delete it. Hold the pointer over a card to see its region in the preview.

A raised color or region prints only face up, on a face that points up on the model. Orientation is the same setting as Print painted side down on Download. When you switch a raised print to Face down, Filafy asks first. It keeps your raise settings and uses them again when you print face up. Where a color and a region overlap, the higher one sets the height. You can raise up to 8 regions.

Slope or round the raised edges. In Raised print, use Edges to set the sides of every raised color and region. Straight sides go straight up. Sloped sides slope in at 45 degrees as they go up. Rounded gives each raised part a round top edge, as tall as the part and up to 2 mm. The 3D preview shows the edges one layer at a time.

Where a lower raised part touches a higher one, that side goes straight up. A sloped part ends where it gets narrower than one line of filament, which limits how high a narrow part can stand. The Raise step stops at that limit, and a note says why. If you change to Sloped edges, a height above that limit comes down to it. Raised parts narrower than one line of filament stay flat. To change a height, a region or the edges after you convert, convert again, which uses a credit.
