Printers and slicers

Quick answer
My Snapmaker U1 print has more than 4 colors. What happens?
The file still downloads, and the Download page warns you. Snapmaker Orca sends the extra colors to toolheads that the U1 does not have. Lower Max colors to 4 and convert again.
The detail
The picker is brand, then model, the same shape as My Filaments, and it lists what we support rather than every printer that exists.
- Anycubic: the Kobra models that take an ACE color unit. That is the Kobra 3, 3 V2, 3 Max, 3 Max V2, 4, S1, S1 Max and X.
- Bambu Lab: the whole current range. That is the A series, the P series, the X series and the H2 family, each with its own build plates and presets.
- Prusa Research: the Prusa printers that load more than one filament. That is the MK3S+, MK3.5, MK3.9, MK3.9S, MK4 and MK4S with an MMU3. It is also the CORE One and CORE One L with an MMU3, and the CORE One INDX. The XL is there with 2 or 5 tools.
- Snapmaker: the Snapmaker U1, which has 4 toolheads.
- Other: anything else. See If your printer is not listed.
Own more than one? Add each of them under Settings → Printer and they all stay there. Say which one a print is for on the Print setup tab of the Design step, before you convert. The ? beside Printer on that tab links to Settings → Printer. That choice sets the nozzle and Max colors to that printer’s own. It also decides which slicers the download offers.
Slicers, and what the export binds
Five slicers are supported: Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer, PrusaSlicer, Anycubic Slicer Next and Snapmaker Orca. You do not choose one against your printer, because the printer decides which are possible. A Bambu Lab printer offers Bambu Studio and OrcaSlicer, and a Prusa printer offers PrusaSlicer. An Anycubic printer offers Anycubic Slicer Next, and the Snapmaker U1 offers Snapmaker Orca. Other offers all five, since we are modeling nothing either way.
The U1 has 4 toolheads. A print with more than 4 colors still downloads, and the Download page warns you. Snapmaker Orca slices that file, but it sends some colors to toolheads that the printer does not have. To print it, lower Max colors to 4 or fewer and convert again.
